do you remember

the day you said goodbye to me at the airport in san francisco
i knew it would be the last time
the last time you'd be mine

do you remember the tales i told you
the stars i showed you
and how i already loved you
the first time we met

each moment after that we shared
the magic in bed as we watched sunrises and sunsets
borrowed time i'll never forget

do you remember the owls howling when we fell in love in that tree
that tree that set me free
now on fire burning in my memory
or do you remember that day when you told me
i was a mysterious carcajou
when it was just the two of us
surrounded by the red of your room

two wild beasts roaming the wilderness of our dreams
never again to see what our lives could have been
if you hadn't left.

words

my only friend,
come speak softly to her when she's away
these delicate words of what were once love
restless silhouettes dancing into my mind
big and grand
do you remember when i sang to you in armenian
words foreign in the early morning
waking me up so that we could watch the sunrise, before falling to sleep again
the neverending bliss we found ourselves in
she, using me as her pillow, my body became her home
the last time remembering your halo intertwined with mine
the last time we drank from the sun
till the moon shined.

these days i walk with you
sending you words you'll never hear, but should be spoken
these words born in my bones
were always meant for you, my darling.
always for you, my dear.
