i love you, but i am scared.
i'm scared by the way you retreat, leaving me behind hiding in the shadows of these memories that aren't mine enough to see clearly through the fog of past and present, as you go places i'm not allowed to follow. you come and go like the high tide of cold hostile waters, ever beckoning me further against a rocky shore. so where am i to go in these times of forced solitude, when all i want is to hold you against my skin, to wrap you around my body for all of time and let you into my soul?
